Theory of Income II (2022)

TA for Professor Mikhail Golosov, University of Chicago, Graduate, 2022

Course Description

The course discusses topics in economic growth and business cycles. It organizes discussion around a number of stylized empirical facts that motivated a lot of macroeconomic research in the last several decades. The course discusses models of balanced growth and structural change; highlights implications of macroeconomic networks, international trade and monopolistic competition for both structural change and resource misallocation; and provides an overview of Real Business Cycles and New Keynesian models. The course utilizes heavily theoretical techniques introduced in Theory of Income I.
